piSAR 08 Assorted Big Game Hunting Period: September - January Program Description: In Italy, international sportsmen may only hunt on private hunting grounds, most of which are fenced (except for Alpine Chamois and Roe deer hunt) Italy is a unique country which lends itself to family holidays due to the vast amount of historical and cultural locations. Big game hunting is done mostly by stalking or from blinds. Boar hunting is from blinds or the traditional driven hunt with dogs. Lodging is provided in typical historical houses and are replete with exceptional classic Italian meals and wines. Daily Rates: 1x1 $650.00 2x1 $550.00 Observer $250.00 pp/pd. Includes: Airport assistance (arrival airport should be Rome or Fiumicino) firearm clearance (for non European clients a gun permit is required and can be obtained at the Italian Consulate in the country of origin.) ground transportation, accommodations/meals during the hunt, PH, skinning & salting of trophy, hunting license, hunting permit and insurance. Travel days are included in length of hunt. When booked trophies are collected the hunt is considered completed. Hunt Period: November- January Location: Located midway between Rome and Florence, in Umbria lays Monte Peglia. This one of the very best organized private big & small game driven hunts in a fenced area of Italy, featuring a mixed driven hunt for red stag, fallow stag, mouflon & wild boar in one part of the reserve, in a second part driven hunts for only wild boar are held while in the third part pheasant hunting is conducted. Description of Program: The driven big game hunts are conducted in typical Italian style with about 100 hounds who aid the staff in driving the wild game in the direction of the hunters. Each hunter has their own blind and guide who assists during the hunt and points out game. The hunt will last 3-4 hours and concludes with a lunch in an excellent Italian restaurant near the reserve. The driven pheasant hunt consists of 3-4 drives are conducted daily with hounds and drivers, the stand on the fire line and shoots at driven pheasant. Each shooter will have an assistant to load gun and mark harvested pheasant. If weather is good an al fresco lunch will be held immediately after hunt concludes at reserve, if not lunch will be at the Italian restaurant. Pheasant driven hunt includes: group daily bag of 300 birds. Total animals per hunter: Up to 4 wild boar. Mixed driven hunt: 2 trophy and 4 non trophy animals. Total pheasant per group 600 birds. Animals over quota: none trophy animals and boar $450.00 each. Trophy Mouflon and Fallow Stag $1,000.00 each. Trophy Red Stag $1,500.00 each. Each pheasant over daily limit of 300 is $30.00
